Overwhelmed, overworked and overcommitted, many of us really don’t need more of anything —
except rest. There is almost nothing like Restorative yoga when it comes to accessing that place of profound rest at the center of each of us when it comes to deeply relaxing the body, enhancing mood, stilling the mind, and cultivating qualities of compassion toward self and others.
The Feathered Pipe Ranch has become a yearly touchstone for many to exhale and release from overscheduled lives. This workshop is a community gathering and mini-conference for teachers and serious students ready to immerse themselves in the study and practice of Restorative yoga with Restorative yoga pioneer Judith Hanson Lasater and her yoga teacher daughter, Lizzie — both teaching, both in the room.
When you join us to practice Restorative yoga in this intimate and tranquil retreat setting, you’ll deepen your appreciation of the value of a Restorative practice and of the silence that seeps in from the vast natural environment outside our practice and spills into your heart. We invite you to join your restorative sangha (community of practitioners) for this sublimely easygoing week set under the Big Sky of Montana surrounded by majestic mountains and forest at the Ranch: this is a place that’s all about good yoga, good people, good food, and good vibes.
The wonderfully adaptive practices you’ll explore spring from fresh insights in Judith’s recently published book,
to offer your body the opportunity to rest deeply and revitalize. The practices are simple and accessible for people of all ages and in all states of health. Restorative yoga relies on the generous use of props such as bolsters, blankets and blocks to support passive postures that cultivate deep relaxation to support health and wholeness, focusing on opening rather than stretching. Restore and Rebalance
Consider this week a loving invitation to press the pause button. When you’re not in class, you’ll revel in rejuvenating leisure time with other members of your Restorative yoga tribe lazing on the luscious green lawn, taking quiet strolls around the Ranch, getting a massage, soaking in the hot tub, and relaxing in the sauna. The week’s schedule includes:
Daily active asana practice to prepare for silence —
— Question and answer sessions to learn about the therapeutic application of restorative yoga
— Restorative inversions
— A pranayama immersion
And here’s an inspired idea! If one week at the Ranch is heavenly, two in a row is indescribably divine: treat yourself to a Feathered Pipe double-header and join Judith the week before at her Ranch retreat, “
