Connection is an essential element in the practice of yoga. Connection brings people closer to one another and closer to one’s self. Establishing connection between the student and the teacher, the student and the practice is one of the primary jobs of the instructor. This connection is facilitated through assisting and since assisting is a multi-faceted art, there is almost always more connection to be discovered, both by the teacher and the student.

This retreat will bring students and teachers together to learn and expand upon the unspoken language of assisting. By bringing the student and the teacher together for this one-of-a-kind retreat, Power Vinyasa Yoga’s Elizabeth DeAngelis and Julianna Curtis invite you to an in-depth exploration of what is happening in the space of the practice and what is available to cultivate, to nurture, to strengthen, to build and to release.

Through daily asana, pose workshops, thought provoking inquiry and exploration of the gorgeous Feathered Pipe Ranch we will uncover the richness available for any practice through:

Verbal assists
Triage style alignment assists
Demonstrative assists
Uplevel posture assists
Vinyasa Yoga Retreat Energetic assists
History and context assists
Spiritual assists
And savasana assists

WHAT ELIZABETH & JULIANNA’S PAST RETREAT, TRAINING & CLASSES ATTENDEES SAY:

Feathered Pipe Ranch“You are the teacher who brought me into my body in a way I never could have arrived by myself. One simple verbal assist completely changed the pose for the better. There was space, freedom, empowerment. I felt seen and actually held which allowed me to be in charge. Simple direct kind and sometimes funny, you made all the difference.”

“There is much  I could say about Elizabeth as a yoga instructor and the physical (and spiritual) assists she has provided enabling me to do more on my mat and be more in my life than I’d thought possible.  However, as a teacher for four decades and as a teacher of teachers for almost as long, that’s where I see her greatest gifts.  Her intuitive sense of individuals’ needs enhance her instruction and particularly her assists.”

“Elizabeth is unique in her depth of knowledge of the practice…history and teachings of yoga, mechanics of asanas, and skills to teach all levels from novices to future teachers.  She is able to hold the bar high while helping me to see and experience the possibilities in the moment.”

RETREAT TIP!
