विशोका वा ज्योतिष्मतीः। (Viśokā vā jyotiṣmatī.)
“Or by meditating on the inner, sorrowless light in the heart, the mind develops stability.”
~ Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra 1.14
Peer reviewed scientific studies reveal the validity of heart to brain communication and the many benefits of heart coherence. These include neurological and cognitive benefits, cardiovascular and hormonal benefits, immune function improvements, increased vitality and social bonding.
The practices for developing heart/brain coherence are simple, enjoyable and require little time. With consistency, the benefits of the practice accrue and the wonder of our connection to Universal consciousness through the heart becomes apparent in the miracle of everyday presence and existence.
We will start our sessions with short practical techniques for meditating on the heart center and then move into our active asana practice in the morning and restorative practices in the afternoon. My desire is that you come away with skills that can be applied to uplift and maintain this state with a sense of compassion and gratitude for yourself and your life.
Daily Schedule:
7:30-8:00am — Optional group silent sit or recorded guided meditation
10am-12:15pm — Morning asana to include philosophy, functional anatomy and active practice
12:30pm — Lunch/free time
4:15pm-6:15pm — Afternoon restorative to include long restoratives, inversion options, pranayama, and meditation
6:30pm– Dinner/free time
7:45pm– Evening hikes, bonfires, philosophical discussion & free time to enjoy just being
*Wednesday afternoon will be free
WHAT LYNNE’S STUDENTS & RETREAT ATTENDEES SAY:
“Lynne is quite simply a joy to learn from! She continually deepens her practice and her understanding of the yoga sutras, which keep her teachings fresh and new no matter how long you’ve been studying with her. She has the perfect balance of wisdom, humor, grace, skill, love, and attention (which Mr. Iyengar would say are the same thing!), making her classes and workshops a time of growth and community and delight. I am forever grateful to have her as my friend and mentor!”
“I had no idea how fortunate I was when I walked into my first yoga class with Lynne Minton all those years ago! She instilled in me a great love for the practice and philosophy that I treasure, and continue to explore, to this day. I so appreciate her skill and ability to create rich and nourishing classes that invite all levels of students to explore and grow through yoga asana and pranayama. Her life-long commitment to yoga shines in her teaching and she always creates opportunities to learn, share, and explore the spiritual root of yoga.”
“Practice with Lynne Minton is a sumptuous feast for the mind, body, and soul. Her inquisitive nature, playful spirit, commitment, love, and, enduring faith in the power of presence have inspired generations of yogis. It has been one of the greatest privileges and joys of my life to explore the depths and play in the shallows with her.”
RETREAT TIP! Extend your time in peace and beauty while savoring Western hospitality by spending some time exploring the great West’s National Park treasures either before or after your time with Lynne Minton at the Feathered Pipe Ranch. Glacier National Park is a glorious and scenic 3.5-hour drive north and west of Feathered Pipe, while Yellowstone is just a 4.5 hour drive south and east of the Ranch through some of the prettiest Western territory you’ll ever see.
