हृदये चित्तसंवित् (hṛdaye cittasaṁvit) — “Perfect concentration on the heart reveals the contents of the mind.”

~ Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra 3.34

The heart is literally the driver of our physical life and the seat of our spiritual self. Giving it attention can reveal much about our state of mind and the state of our energy. Our emotional and mental states determine our state of Being. Our state of Being determines the life we create, individually and collectively.

Heart Centered Yoga - Lynne MintonWhen we place our attention on the heart and breathe deeply, we clearly see how the mind has created a mistaken identity of duality where insecurity, lack and fear can abide. By coming back to the heart breath again and again, we move our state of being (mind and heart) from duality to unity. We overcome our limitations and little by little begin to feel more whole, healthy and joyful.

We will practice yoga asana, pranayama and meditation daily as a way to align our bodies, our emotions and our thoughts with a state of Being that is elevated, vital and natural. My desire is that you come away with skills that can be applied to uplift and maintain this state with a sense of compassion and gratitude for yourself and your life.

Lynne Minton - Iyengar Yoga“Lynne is quite simply a joy to learn from! She continually deepens her practice and her understanding of the yoga sutras, which keep her teachings fresh and new no matter how long you’ve been studying with her. She has the perfect balance of wisdom, humor, grace, skill, love, and attention (which Mr. Iyengar would say are the same thing!), making her classes and workshops a time of growth and community and delight. I am forever grateful to have her as my friend and mentor!”

“I had no idea how fortunate I was when I walked into my first yoga class with Lynne Minton all those years ago! She instilled in me a great love for the practice and philosophy that I treasure, and continue to explore, to this day. I so appreciate her skill and ability to create rich and nourishing classes that invite all levels of students to explore and grow through yoga asana and pranayama. Her life-long commitment to yoga shines in her teaching and she always creates opportunities to learn, share, and explore the spiritual root of yoga.”

“Practice with Lynne Minton is a sumptuous feast for the mind, body, and soul. Her inquisitive nature, playful spirit, commitment, love, and, enduring faith in the power of presence have inspired generations of yogis. It has been one of the greatest privileges and joys of my life to explore the depths and play in the shallows with her.”
