How would it feel to sync your own rhythm to the greater rhythms of the earth?
There is a place where the signal fades, the mind quiets, and an inherent wisdom begins to stir.
Our tenth running of The Mindful Unplug is a week-long return to that place—where movement becomes medicine, rhythm becomes language, and nature reminds you who you are beneath the noise. Nestled among tall pines, alpine meadows, and starlit skies—this retreat program offers a rare chance to step away from the urgency of daily life and into a deeper cadence of being. Seamlessly woven together throughout the week, the three threads of embodied movement, rhythm and voice, and nature immersion interlace into a cohesive experience that rekindles connection to self, others, and the living world.
Mornings begin with intuitive, all-levels movement grounded in somatic awareness and the spacious teachings of Freedom Yoga. Led by Anne Jablonski, these practices invite you to inhabit your body with curiosity and care. No performance. No pushing. Just the unfolding of ease, strength, and self-trust.
Afternoons and evenings open into rhythm and sound with musician and educator Matthew Marsolek. Through drumming, voice-work, and body percussion, Matthew creates space for connection, play, and presence beyond words. You’ll also find room for dance, laughter, and the ancient joy of shared rhythm.
For those drawn to the hush of early light, small-group forest immersions offer a contemplative way to start the day—walking quietly among trees, sensing the pulse of the land. On some mornings, we gather in gentle song circles before guided group meditation, raising our voices together in melodies and chants that attune us to one another and to our own inner nature.
Throughout the week, we gather for a poetry salon and small group dharma inquiry—soft spaces where words rise from the heart rather than the intellect. We allow time for community artmaking where hands and heart come together in creative expression. Nature is not a backdrop here—it is a co-facilitator, holding and shaping every moment. A breeze through tall grasses. The hush of dusk over the lake. The sky stitched with stars. These, too, are part of the curriculum.
There’s spaciousness each day for rest, reflection, bodywork, journaling, a nap in a hammock, or a swim in the spring-fed lake. You’ll have the freedom to follow your own inner rhythm, supported by a program that offers a rich variety of entry points into embodied awareness. Evenings bring opportunities for silent stargazing, a nightfall meditation, or heartfelt connection with fellow retreat-goers. The atmosphere is unhurried, inclusive, and, according to many past retreat goers, quietly transformative.
Whether you arrive seeking clarity, community, healing, or inspiration, you’ll find yourself welcomed into a relaxed community of shared exploration—where each practice shares a common thread, and there is truly something for everyone. This week of movement, rhythm, and wild beauty just might be the reset your whole being has been waiting for.
Come as you are. Leave more deeply yourself.

WHAT PAST MINDFUL UNPLUG EXPERIENCE ATTENDEES SAY:
“One of my favorite things is the connection I get with others at this retreat. I love the ranch staff, the complete support they give us . . . the food is amazing and being on the yoga deck doing our stuff is something not everyone in this world gets to experience. Yet there it is, so sacred. . . the whole experience is one of those times you are grateful you get to have again and again every year, year after year. God love you all that provide this beautiful experience.”
“I loved the welcoming, relaxed, friendly, open attitude everyone came with!”
“A soul-enriching landscape, exactly what one needs to refuel and reground away from the hustle and bustle of one’s daily life. Although I have only been twice, I know the ranch will be an annual gathering place for many years to come!”
“It was truly a deeply rewarding “unplug” in every sense, and there’s no way to explain how rich and nurturing an experience that is, how much the afterglow stays with you. A welcoming and unjudgmental group of like minds. A setting which is dimensional and deep, so much more stunning than postcards or photos can convey.”
“The singing, dancing, and drumming from the Marsolek family was absolutely fantastic! Matthew makes music accessible to even the most inexperienced and intimidated by music.”
“The kindness and warmth of the people made everything work. EVERYONE was so lovely! I thought for a second that being a first timer would make me feel isolated or left out. It didn’t. I was welcomed with open, loving arms, every day. What a vibe!!”
“The magic of the place is real. I don’t know how it is, but it is. There an alchemical something happening — loving hearts; intentional, collaborative respect and love for the environment; openness to energy and experiences that might have (big) mystical depth — somehow, it felt a little bit like Narnia or Brigadoon.”
“Every activity is a “come as you are” experience. You need not be an artist to benefit from the art projects, a musician to feel the rhythm, or an advanced yogi to enjoy the yoga and meditation at this retreat!”
“So many special and thoughtful details revealed themselves throughout the week, clearly revealing that they had spent untold time planning to meet both physical and soul-nourishing needs.”
“Flexible, spacious, rich, varied; the yoga – easeful, soulful, Anne-ful, wonderful; the people – warm, kind, easy, present, and almost all of them new to me; the pace – also spacious, flexible, really serving the notion of unplugging; spacious opportunities for movement, drumming, dancing, sitting, idling, hiking . . . meditating.”
“Anne, Matthew . . . and the staff created an amazing safe mind space for us full of learning, music, introspection, friendship, yoga, laughter and simply wonderful times together.”
“The mixture of schedule and free time was orchestrated beautifully. Anne and the Marsoleks together made this retreat sheer perfection.”
“Anne and Matthew led in a way that both enhanced my personal experience and built community within the group. The combination of interior (mindfulness) and exterior (group music) practices was very rewarding.”
“I can’t help but feel that all that rhythm and ritual cultivated a deep inner healing for me and many others.”
“Anne’s “Freedom Yoga” is inviting for participants with all levels of experience. Her gentle nature and kindness exude from her pores.”
“I appreciate the encouraging, peaceful vibe, the interesting, delicious food, the natural beauty, the quality and thoughtfulness of our agenda, and everyone’s sincere compassion for one another’s well-being!”
“My yoga game improved, my meditation deepened, but my appreciation for eye contact and sincere conversation really resonated with me. I doubt that I will ever be able to have such a profound, compelling experience, unless I visit the Ranch again!”
“HOLY COW. The Marsoleks made the week shine, so hard. It felt beyond surreal to have rich, beautiful sound and rhythm float through and around us. Heavenly. And of course, they are just the loveliest, most generous people.”

MINDFUL UNPLUG 2026 GUIDES:
The guides for The Mindful Unplug are deeply rooted in the essence of the Feathered Pipe Ranch, where they have long honored the land and its many secret treasures.
Matthew Marsolek
“If you have a heartbeat, you have a rhythm. If you can breathe, you can sing.”
A lifelong member of the Feathered Pipe community, Matthew Marsolek grew up with the Ranch woven into the fabric of his being. A gifted vocalist, composer, and guitarist, he draws from a rich background in West African and North Indian music, Western classical and jazz traditions, and decades of global study and performance. As artistic director of the internationally acclaimed Drum Brothers ensemble, Matthew creates music and group experiences that bridge cultures and invite transformation. His teaching blends rhythm, voice-work, movement, and mindfulness into powerful invitations for connection—whether he’s working with retreat groups, hospice caregivers, bereaved youth, or corporate leaders.
Equally at home in a forest song circle or a concert hall, Matthew’s work is rooted in the belief that rhythm and sound are ancient gifts for healing and belonging. His presence at Mindful Unplug brings not just musical mastery, but a profound ability to create safe, spirited space where people can explore their voices, their aliveness, and their shared humanity.

Anne Jablonski
“Yoga doesn’t begin when you imitate a shape, but with sensing from the inside with breath, body, and intuition moving as one.”
For over two decades, Anne Jablonski has danced with the rhythms of the Feathered Pipe Ranch, where she serves as President of the Feathered Pipe Foundation. To Anne, this sacred ground is more than a retreat center—it’s a refuge where the natural world invites us to remember what matters, to breathe deeper, and to awaken from the hum of modern life. With this spirit, she co-created The Mindful Unplug retreat: a space for embodied presence, soulful community, and reconnection through movement, rhythm, and nature. Anne’s teaching is rooted in the intuitive principles of Freedom Yoga, as taught by her mentor Erich Schiffmann and enriched by her certification in Movingness—a somatic-centric approach to refining movement patterns, releasing fascia, and embodying natural states of flow.
She is an Associate Somatic Movement Professional (ASMP) with the International Somatic Movement and Education Therapy Association (ISMETA). Her classes emphasize inner listening, curiosity, and self-trust over performance or perfection. A rat-race survivor in joyful recovery, Anne is a registered E-RYT 500-hour Yoga Alliance teacher and longtime instructor at Sun & Moon Yoga Studio in Northern Virginia. Whether teaching on the mat or in the forest, she gently nudges students toward their own quiet knowing—the heart of yoga itself.
