We at the Feathered Pipe Foundation are proud to partner with Veterans Yoga Project in their newest initiative, the 200-hour Mindful Resilience Yoga Teacher Training (MRYTT™) for veterans. This program is made possible in part by an NFL-Bob Woodruff Foundation (BWF) Salute to Service partnership to provide a “Healthy Lifestyles and Creating Community” grant and will allow 20 veterans to attend a yoga teacher training to learn to teach yoga both in and out of the Mindful Resilience Yoga setting.

Graduates of the 200-hour MRYTT™ who are veterans themselves will be best able to meet the increasing demand for mindful resilience yoga classes and further the fortification of the bridge from post-traumatic stress to post-traumatic growth.

The MRYTT™ will include two 8-week online sessions and two 9-day in-person intensive sessions, June 3 – 13 and August 29 – September 6, at Feathered Pipe Ranch, just outside Helena, MT. Text books, air travel to and from Montana, and room and board at Feathered Pipe Ranch will be provided free of charge to program participants.

TESTIMONIALS FROM PREVIOUS VETERANS YOGA PROJECT HEALING RETREATS

Veterans Healing - Veteran Community“First off THANK YOU. This program is amazing. I am a veteran diagnosed with PTSD who thought I was the only one seeking recovery through this practice. Recently attended the retreat at the Feathered Pipe Ranch in Helena MT. An amazing experience to say the least. This is an amazing service you are offering. This is actual help for vets with PTSD and TBI. Not just a handful of pills that the VA considers treatment. Being able to consciously shift from a hyper arousal/vigilant state to calm rational thought gave me the strength to handle my day. It gave me a few extra seconds to assess my situation if there was a loud bang or a car following me to close. Once more, Thank you.”

“This retreat was deeply moving and healing in ways I never expected. I can only begin to express my gratitude for the opportunity to share this experience. I am taking so much forward with me in my life, and leaving behind things that don’t serve me or which have been causing suffering. My sleep has improved, my relationships with other and myself are changing toward the positive, and I have much more clarity about further steps in healing and my path from here. I have already been experiencing it unfold. My heart is bursting with the joy of all this and the readiness and openness to do this new work. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

“It’s hard to put into words, but I can honestly say that for one, my back has not felt this pain-free and healthy since I got blown up in Iraq about 5 or 6 years ago, and number two, this is the first time I’ve really believed that I can live without being defined by chronic anxiety, anger and depression in over two years of VA treatment. This retreat has opened up possibilities to believe in actually having life again and enjoying it. I just want to say thank you to everyone who made this possible.”

“I was on a downward spiral mentally with my PTSD. I was beginning to think what’s the purpose of my constant mental anguish. I was invited to the Veterans Yoga Project at the Feathered Pipe Ranch in Helena, MT. As it turned out it was exactly what I needed. The mindfulness relaxation yoga turned out to help me refocus on the here and now, and what’s important.”
