Whether you practice yoga to relieve soreness in the body, increase strength and flexibility, cultivate a relaxed response to life’s challenges or self realization, a good yoga practice can effectively address all. Yoga asanas and pranayama offers us the tools to move from the periphery to the core of our being. It is a lifetime practice that continually deepens our understanding and ability to touch inner layers of ourselves and ability.
According to the yoga traditions, the body, mind and emotions are interwoven in increasingly subtle aspects of our anatomy. Join senior-level Iyengar Yoga instructor and founder of Iyengar Yoga Therapeutics, Marla Apt for a combination of practice that progresses and the settling that occurs on retreat at the Feathered Pipe Ranch that will allow for a deepening of our life experience.
At the center of our retreat will be extended daily asana classes, allowing plenty of time to build understanding and physical readiness. There will also be daily practice of pranayama, restorative asanas and discussion of the philosophical context of the yoga practice.
Between daily classes with Marla, plenty of leisure time remains for you to savor the afterglow of your practice in an unspoiled Rocky Mountain setting that features soft mountain breezes, a sparkling lake, the healing scent of pines, and star-studded night skies. And lovingly prepared vegetarian cuisine throughout the week will nourish your body — and thrills your taste buds!

RETREAT TIP! Extend your time in peace and beauty while savoring Western hospitality by spending some time exploring the great West’s National Park treasures either before or after your retreat with Marla at the Feathered Pipe Ranch. Glacier National Park is a glorious and scenic 3.5-hour drive north and west of Feathered Pipe, while Yellowstone is just a 4.5 hour drive south and east of the Ranch through some of the prettiest Western territory you’ll ever see.
ABOUT MARLA APT:
Los Angeles based Marla Apt is a senior intermediate level Iyengar Yoga teacher who has been involved with medical research studies at UCLA on yoga for depression, anxiety and IBS and created the first yoga therapy content to be incorporated into the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine’s curriculum. She is a writer/contributor for Yoga Journal and Yoga International magazines. Marla visited India for the first time while doing research for a degree in Buddhist Philosophy and has since returned numerous times for yoga studies including a year of study in Pune, India with B.K.S. Iyengar, his daughter, Geeta Iyengar and son, Prashant Iyengar. She continues to study annually with the Iyengars at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI) in Pune, India.
She is pursuing her interest in making the healing benefits of yoga available to communities in need as a member of the non-profit organization, Iyengar Yoga Therapeutics. She leads workshops and teacher trainings throughout the U.S. and abroad.

Registration deposit required: A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to secure online registration. Full payment is due eight weeks before the start of the program.
Tuition fee includes: Triple Occupancy Main Lodge, Shared Yurt/Deluxe Wall Tent/Sai Condo, or Single Tipi/Tent, plus meals and use of all amenities – our bathhouse, sauna, hot tub, as well as all the Feathered Pipe Ranch facilities and grounds. Upgraded accommodation are available.

The retreat will include:

Shuttle service: Shuttle service from/to Helena Regional Airport on arrival/departure day is complimentary (free) for all registered guests. Please note that if you are needing pick-up or drop-off on any other day, that there will be a $35 one-way charge.
Arrival and departure: Please plan to arrive at the Feathered Pipe Ranch no later than 5pm on the arrival day (Saturday, 22 July) of your retreat so you can join us for a tour of the grounds before dinner at 6:30pm and our group evening orientation following dinner. Please arrange to leave the Ranch in the morning or early afternoon of departure day (Friday, 28 July). Checkout is at 9am, and guests are welcome to stay at the Ranch until their flight leaves that day.
