Happy Holidays, Dear Friends!
While the holiday season takes a different form this year, it remains a time of gratitude and connection – a time to celebrate together. We’d like to extend our thanks and share three gifts with you.
THANK YOU! Thanks to many volunteers, generous donors, grants, support of all kinds from our Feathered Pipe community, and our talented team we have gone from contemplating our survival to actually thriving during this extraordinarily challenging year.
— Gift 1: Feathered Pipe Mixed Tape 2020: A Musical Message Of Gratitude – When thinking about a way to thank our Feathered Pipe friends, I remembered my favorite from-the-heart gift, a mixed tape. It took time to contemplate and compile, it connected you with your friends each time you listened, and it became the soundtrack to your life. With that sentiment in mind, we created a “Mixed Tape” that brings the soul of Feathered Pipe by sharing music performed by friends for friends. Just getting this all together brought joy to my heart. I hope you watch, listen and ENJOY!
— Gift 2: The Dandelion Effect podcast’s latest episode with Baxter Bell & Melina Meza: Sleep, Setting Boundaries and Seasonal Wellness – Baxter and Melina have taught at the Ranch for many years and will be here again in 2021. With the podcast we bring them to you with useful and timely gems of wisdom.
— Gift 3: Bye Bye 2020: A Feathered Pipe New Year’s Eve Online Gathering – December 31 at 9 am PT / 12 pm ET will be time to connect online during a led compassion meditation and yoga/mindful movement class, followed by some ‘open mic’ time for us all to catch up and find out what’s been happening at the Ranch. With your help we did a lot of positive work.
While the Ranch was closed, we took the opportunity to make many improvements to the facilities including creating several new outdoor meditation and sitting areas, adding prayer wheels to the Stupa, building the Nature Deck, rebuilding aging balconies and tent platforms, laying a new slate walkway, and many other needed repairs, as well as the purchase of a UV mat sanitizer.
Online we have created the Feathered Pipe Online Sangha (stay tuned for many new updates in the coming weeks) to help support and network with many of our favorite teachers, had a very successful 45th Anniversary Online Workshop Celebration and (re)connected with old and new friends and teachers, and launched our podcast The Dandelion Effect to be a source of inspiration and remind us of our interconnectedness through this time of isolation.
Bring in the New Year Fundraising Campaign – $26,300 in matching funds pledged! The Feathered Pipe’s Board, Executive Director and a few generous friends have collectively pledged an incredible $26,300 of matching funds for donations made during our yearend fundraising campaign! This is really encouraging for us and will help see us through until our 2021 season. Please help us unlock these funds and your donation can have twice the impact!
