at the Feathered Pipe Ranch

"It is teachers and practitioners like Jason that will take the art of yoga and teaching yoga to its next step."
-Rodney Yee

Come deepen your vinyasa yoga practice in this 6-day retreat with Yoga Journal conference regular Jason Crandell said to have a "knack for explaining extremely subtle body movements in ways that anyone can understand (Yoga Journal)" will help align and refine your asanas, providing you with greater skill, safety, awareness, and knowledge in your practice.

Our mornings together will be spent practicing a fluid, effective vinyasa-sequence designed to awaken the body's intelligence, energize the spirit and open the heart. Our afternoons will combine practice, demonstration and partner work that focuses on specific groups of asanas such as hip-openers (lotus, anyone?), backbends (we know they're tough, but we're there for you), arm-balances (you can do it... really), and inversions (done well, nothing beats them). We'll also explore how the asana practice combined with yoga philosophy and basic pranayama can help you weather the stresses and difficulties of your everyday life with resilience and grace. This is a perfect retreat for students of every level-those of you who are newer to the practice will be given additional support and modifications, while more advanced practitioners will be afforded the opportunity to go beyond the horizons.

Jason Crandell is the Yoga Director at The San Francisco Bay Club, a regular presenter at Yoga Journal conferences, and staff instructor at Yoga Journal Magazine. He is Yoga Journal's "Basics" columnist and has been featured in Natural Health, Yoga For Everybody, 7x7, and San Francisco Magazine. Jason has had the great fortune of apprenticing extensively with Rodney Yee (and studying with countless other teachers with recognizable names). But, more than any other qualifier, Jason just really loves to practice and teach.

"Jason has a knack for explaining extremely subtle body movements in a way that anyone can understand. With his low-key charm and deadpan humor, Crandell puts students at ease right away."
-Yoga Journal

"The best. His patience and knowledge of backbends was worth the whole cost of the conference."
-Beginning student attending 2006 San Francisco Yoga Journal Conference
