Mother Nature serves as our living example that the accumulation of years isn’t about getting old! Her ability to create balance, to recycle, renew and regenerate makes her one of our greatest teachers. And when life offers the opportunity to bask in the light of experienced sages with the wisdom, acuity and compassion to guide us with grace through every stage of life regardless of external circumstances, we are wise to say “yes!” Join Tao and Connie in experiencing Mother Earth's wisdom, which is ever-present at the Feathered Pipe Ranch! Tap into this wellspring of energy, a mirror for the luminosity within you, and rejuvenate through yoga and photography, exploring our deep connection to Spirit and to each other.

Life is Opportunity
Mornings will be spent practicing yoga, reconnecting with our bodies and our own life force. As Mother Nature moves and adjusts with the changing of seasons, Tao will share with you the wisdom of her 93 years of living life with grace and gratitude. There is more to life than simply surviving the passing of the years. Life is opportunity for evolution of being. Tao has learned these secrets of transformation and will impart them to you. Having studied with Indra Devi and Aurobindo and BKS Iyengar, she teaches discipline and control of the body and mind through yoga. As she guides you in elevation and balance of the body in classic poses, she will demonstrate how to tap into the primal spark of energy that all of us can experience.

Learning to Fly -Connie Reider
Afternoons will be spent exercising our creative muscle through photography and writing. An accomplished professional photographer who has used her camera to assist her self-healing from cancer, Connie will guide you to open your visual eye along with your spiritual soul to find inspiration, spontaneity, and emotion in people and in all that surrounds us. The ever-present Big Sky above and the grandeur of the forests of the Northern Rockies which are now in a state of transformation and rebirth will serve as the perfect panorama for the reflective experience of photographing our feelings and experiences that will be explored in the retreat. (View Connie's "Living in Luminosity" Gallery.
Masterfully weaving these two deep practices together, Tao and Connie will enable us to bring sharp focus to the renewal of body, mind and spirit, reminding us of what brings meaning and purpose to life. The Feathered Pipe Ranch is the ideal location to support this journey, steeped in natural beauty and blessed with sacred space. Listen to your inner wisdom and join us for a life-enhancing journey to remember.
Please Note: Retreat is open to all levels within Yoga and Photography!

Connie Reider
Connie Reider is an accomplished professional photographer, specializing in portraiture, with studios in Bethesda and Annapolis, MD. For over 25 years, she has been using her camera to express her personal vision of the world. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1995, Connie used her camera and journaling to help herself to heal. She discovered that the cancer experience had a profoundly positive effect on her life which she documents in her book, IN SHADOW AND LIGHT... Looking for the Gifts of Cancer.
In 2007, Connie created INscape, The Healing Art of Photography. INscape is based on the technique that when photography is used as a walking meditation, it connects the wisdom metaphorically represented in nature with the landscapes of our inner lives. The resulting “self portraits” reveal a wealth of insightful information, giving a deep understanding and appreciation of our authentic selves along with new possibilities as to how we choose to live each day. As well, Connie co-founded the F. Holland Day Center for Healing and Creativity with Dr. Matthew Budd, serving as the Creative Director leading week-long healing retreats for women with cancer.
